Choose your Words Wisely!
The reality is that most of our daily choices and behaviours are not conscious. We think we know why we do what we do but the truth is 90% of our behaviour is driven by subconscious programming. All of our beliefs and rules about life have been adopted by our parents, teachers, media, peers and mostly unconsciously at a very young age.
This is why many of us will read a book or go to a conference and say we’ll make fantastic changes–but rarely do. For a new idea to become a lasting behaviour you need to go to the source of all behaviour , the sub-conscious mind.
Our conscious mind really does want us to make the improvement in personal life. But all the programming and negative patterns within our subconscious hold us back and sabotage our progress.
So what can we do to change this? Hypnosis is extremely powerful in creating changes in the subconscious so that behavioural change then becomes easy and effortless. I want to give you a suggestion that will help you right now. Autosuggestion is simply using words and verbal commands to rewire and rescript the unconscious realm of our brain. The subconscious is dramatically influenced by words. The average person uses words that create limitation, scarcity, drama and failure in their lives–without even knowing it. Best performers, successful and happy people know that words drive behaviour, and so they use them brilliantly.
To be specific, I suggest that you clean out the victim speak from your vocabulary. Speaking “I hate this” or “this will never work” or “I’m not good at this” or “I can’t achieve that” or “I’m in trouble” forge subconscious beliefs that make your words self-fulfilling realities. Instead, use the language that it is empowering and in alignment of what you truly want to manifest in your life. Speak words with power, grace and positivity. Speak like the person you wish to could become. And, with time and consistent practice, you’ll step into that person’s shoes.
Many of my clients are surprised when they first learn that every word has a bio-chemical effect in their body that can be scientifically measured. This bio-chemical influence then has an effect on our behaviour. Try it on; don’t just take my word for it. Read these out loud, hate annoyed, angry, miserable, robbed, destroyed, shamed, devastated. Pause. Now, read these out loud, happy, excited, over joyed, elated, thrilled, surprised, and magnificent. Notice the difference in your body when you read these two lists separately. Words have enormous power over your sub conscious mind and also your current emotions. Choose your words wisely and notice the quality of your life improving.
Remember Knowledge is not power, Applied knowledge is Power, until next time.
