Attitude of Gratitude
Today is going to be amazing because you are going to focussed on gratitude J
I know you have probably heard it all before and so have I, but sometime we all need reminding.
You might just be thinking, ” Yeah yeah, I’m grateful”, but gratitude is more than a thought it is a
Practice.
Today I will be guiding you through some powerful steps that will have you experiencing gratitude
on a whole other level. A level that will bring you more of what you want in life.
Today we are going to focus on your gratitude muscle, so let’s get started!!!
Gratitude has an amazing positive effect on your energy, mind set and well being. Through the day
today you will be guided to heighten your awareness of gratitude.
This is a muscle that needs to be built, at first very consciously and then with practice it becomes a habit and automatic response, but just like anything if you don’t use it you will loose it.
So today even if you believe you have a strong attitude of gratitude I would like you to push that muscle to a whole new level of growth.
Today’s lesson
One of the fastest ways to manifest your goals is by having an attitude of gratitude.
Set 10 minutes aside and make a list in your journal of everything you are grateful for.
Start simply:
– Look around and gently notice something that pleases you.
– Hold your attention to it as you think about how wonderful it is.
– If it is something you already have appreciate the fact that you already have it in your life.
– Now continue looking around and expand this feeling of gratitude with each object or person you notice, until you can feel it oozing out your paws.
When you do this you are sending out the message of “More of this please!”
Now continue this practice for one full minute expanding this feeling of gratitude. Exaggerate it and feel it in your body the stronger you can make it the better.
Now you have influenced your energy, you are operating at a much higher, more powerfully positive level where you will be able to attract more of what you want.
This practice of gratitude can be used for anything objects, people, memories.
At a recent workshop I shared how often when I sit down with couples, one of the things I do very early on in our meeting is hand them a piece of paper and ask them to write all the things that are wrong with their partner and the relationship, all the things they would like to change. Couples will often sit there writing vigorously listing all the things that don’t please them, some even ask for more paper!
Then I ask them to write all the things they love about their partner and don’t ever want to change. Sadly many couples struggle with this exercise. They pause and think and look at me and each other blankly. This is the truth for so many of us. I have my individual clients do the same things when I ask them to list everything that is wonderful about them, they struggle. We have become a society that is so good at looking at what’s wrong and as a result our what’s GREAT muscle has weakened!
So you guessed it I am going to ask you to spend one full minute today focusing on what is GREAT about you.
Many of us have developed a habit of focussing on what is no good and as a result we don’t feel good. This then leads to low level behaviour and ultimately influences the actions/behaviours you take in life and as a result you end up somewhere you never intended to go.
Today build your gratitude muscle. In fact I would like you do go a step further. Set your phone right now for an hourly reminder, alarm or vibration. This will remind you every hour today to expand your felling of gratitude. When you get your reminder, I would like you to take 10 secs to fully experience gratitude no matter what is going on.
I have given this exercise to many of my clients over the years and a miraculous things have happened they report that they start to feel happier, less stressed more appreciation and love.
When you focus on what is great you are in a more resourceful state to live your life, your relationship with yourself and others will transformed guaranteed.
